Osteopathy

What is Osteopathy?

Our osteopaths employ a whole body and mind approach to your healthcare, and management can
include manual therapy, mobility and clinical exercise programs as well as pain education, postural
advice and ergonomic assessments.

Osteopathy may assist in the treatment of:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches and jaw pain
  • Tendon pathology bursitis
  • Repetitive muscle strains

  • Shoulder, elbow and wrist pain
  • Hip, knee and heel/foot pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Occupational injuries
  • Pregnancy-related pain

In Australia, osteopaths are government registered practitioners who complete a minimum of 4.5 years of accredited university training in areas such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical examination of the musculoskeletal, nervous, respiratory and cardiovascular systems, as well as healthcare diagnosis and osteopathic techniques. At Unity Health Osteo Clinic, we consider your safety to be of utmost importance. During your initial consultation, a full case history will be taken to ensure that we are well informed of any serious health conditions that you may have. Your osteopath will make sure to use techniques that are safe and tailored to your personal profile and preferences.

People are unique in their own way, so our osteopathic management may vary from person to person. In some instances, we may ask you to complete questionnaires to assist us with devising the best management plan for you.
